3rd All India Physically Disabled FIDE Rated Chess Championship 2022
Candidate Master Samarth J Rao of Karnataka won the 3rd All India Physically Disabled FIDE Rated Chess Championship 2022 held in Tumkuru, Bangalore. Samarth won event with an unbeaten score of 7.5 out of 9 rounds. Samarth and Naveen Kumar A of Andra Pradesh has scored 7.5 points and late had a better tie-break. The total prize fund of the tournament was 300000. Total 67 players from 12 states have participated in the tournament. The event was conducted from on 1st December to 3rd December 2022. MM Chess Development Trust has organized the event in befitting manner.
Samarth shines
2019 FIDE World Junior Disabled Silver medalist and 3rd seeded Samarth has started the event with 4 wins a row and split up his point with Naveen Kumar A in 5th round. FM Venkata Krishna Karthik K of Andra Pradesh secured 3rd place with 7 points. The top three prizes were 25000, 20000 and 25000 along with a trophy each.
